Bio

When I meet someone new, I find myself asking them about their pets.  I feel like I really get to know them when they describe their animals.  When I start a painting, I try to get to know that animal too.  I study their photos and I ask questions about their quirks, history, and habits.  I want that personality to be visible on the canvas.

I create in my home art studio in Sauk City, WI. My husband, our two daughters, and I happily share our home with rescued dogs.  As a family, we donate our time to many animal welfare groups and we foster greyhounds for Greyhound Pets of America – Wisconsin.

My pieces are colorful, bold, and full of character.  I tend to focus on the face and the eyes.  I paint custom portraits for people of their animals and make custom paper silhouettes.  I sell custom pieces through my website, premade pieces online at ETSY.com, in various local outdoor art shows, and a few local shops: Bloom Bake Shop in Middleton, WI and The Window Sill in Prairie du Sac, WI.
